“When I was a young child, I went to antique sales and auctions all over New England with my family and discovered that auctions were exciting,” recalls Linda Welsh, owner of Linda Welsh Auction & Realty Group.

And so the seeds were sown…

As a young adult of 17, Linda started working for a mortgage broker in Rochester, New York, originating loans and helping repackage them to sell on the secondary market. As a young widow, she went to work in a law firm as a legal secretary, and then on to work in accounting, distribution, sales and administration. When Linda married Leo Welsh in 1987, she had two young children. Little did she know that the family would have several corporate moves ahead of them that would land them in the New York City area, Kansas City, Connecticut, Dallas and ultimately Austin, Texas.

“Leo is a former top executive for a Fortune 100 telecom company and we survived numerous corporate relocations—usually every three to four years,” Linda says. “I became somewhat of an expert at packing up, relocating to an area where we didn’t know anyone and I learned to get involved and settled in quickly.”
